When Shannon asked me to take photos of her family chopping down their very first real Christmas tree, I was all for it!! What a great idea! You get your winter family photos and you get to preserve this iconic memory for years to come.
So we headed out to Chaplin farms, just south of the city. It turned out to be a wee bit chilly, but it was snowing and it made for some really great photos!! We had to trek through a path that Shannon and her daughter shoveled to the tree area at the back. The gate was too snowed in so we climbed over the fence, I ripped my pants a little (thanks to my short legs), but I'm not sad as it was for awesome photos. They also brought their furry family members, Skor and Sophie, man they are CUTE!! We were also greeted by the Chaplin farm dog, a very sweet blue healer. Darren and Eric both took turns with the saw to get this tree down, Shannon and Bryn were there to support the tree and they all worked together to chop down their Christmas tree. Then they carried it back to their truck and off they went home to decorate it.
So tons of snow + awesome family + mascara all over my face = good time spent together. Thank you Shannon for including me in this adventure, I had so much fun!!
If you have an adventure idea for your family photos, let me know....maybe we can make it happen!!
